After repeatedly preliminary discussed and detailed planning, Xingtai steel mills successfully produced 1.4104 free cutting stainless steel in a trial production in July.  This steel grade is high carbon, high chromium and high sulfur containing molybdenum free cutting stainless steel. Then number of the free-cutting stainless steel grades of Xingtai Steel expanded to six.

　　1.4104 free cutting stainless steel increase molybdenum content on the basis of Y1Cr17 steel, which can improve its corrosion resistance. It can be mainly used for producing stainless steel bright bar, subsequent processing various parts, producing car engine shaft of integrity door. It has high value added and high economic benefit, etc.

　　Steel making mill organize technical personnel to system analysis and discuss the existing problems and related abnormal points on the basis of early experience on the produciton of free cutting stainless steel. According to the characteristics of this steel grade, the mill make the detailed process planning to control the AOD furnace pit and slag basicity, solidify refining furnace slag operation, guarantee the stability of sulfur absorption rate, make the key components and slab quality to reach the expected aim.
